Committee Meeting, 1/28/05
Present: Anne, John, Bill,
Shelly, Tony, Malda
Leadership 2005 nominations
- we decided that this year we had insufficient time to apply for the honor
& the funds that go with it. We will do so next year. Bill will keep the
information & resurrect it next fall.
Peter Hutchinson - The event
is set.
9:30 - meeting with
Leadership Mankato;
11:30 - meeting with elected
& appointed officials;
3:00 - public meeting on
campus, in particular economics & urban studies students;
5:30(?) - dinner
with about 20 community CEO's.
7:00 - The Speech
(Personal note - Tony you
are phenomenal to have raised the money for Peter's day in town & set
up this great line up of events.)
Shelly was able to persuade
the Chamber to e-mail this announcement one more time
to their list.
She also thinks that The
Free Press Editorial board will meet with us on this topic.
CONSIDERING ALL THAT HAS
BEEN DONE, IT IS UP TO EACH OF US TO MAKE THE DAY A SUCCESS!
Future of Citizens Voices
- we
are now out of money & can not go back to our previous sources. We do need
money to operate.
- could we
be the successor to Act 2000?
- Tony will ask Jonathan
& Dave to meet with us regarding working together on a plan for the
community.
Rassmussen group - has met several times with District 77. They
will also take a proposal to Pat & the City Council. Denise Billington Just is now in charge of the
Malda will contact Deb to
get a list of the NM Library events to mail out to all of us.
Sustainability - Initiative
Fund is giving us some of their intern's time for perhaps as much as 10
hours/week. this might be a method to create staff
with other sources.
Next meeting is on Thursday,
Feb. 3rd, same time & place.
