Citizens’ Voices Minutes
June 27, 2007
Present: Tom, Mike, Jeanne,
Tony, Malda
Mike reported on the
discussion of the "story" group. They are considering the renaming of
this CV activity. Among the titles considered are "Valley Echoes" or
"Echoes of the Valley". All other suggestions are welcome.
They have come up with a
mission statement. "To help capture the stories of the
land & its people by encouraging & facilitating the tradition of oral
history." While some editing of this might still take
place, the final statement will probably be close to that written above.
Those of us not in that
group thought that it was ready to go as is.
Anne presented the plans for
the Civility program. It would consist of a series of workshops on mindful facilitation and mindful conflict resolution.
The intent is to build a
cohort of trainees. The trainees will sensitize groups both as to verbal and
physical aspects of civility.
Envision 2020 seems to be at
a crossroads. Although important events are happening, are there some ways that
Citizens Voices could step back into the organization to be helpful?
Our mission might be stated
as that of being a catalyst. We would help develop, encourage & promote the
sustainability of the quality of life of the region.
Next meeting is on July
11th, 7:30 am at the Coffee Hag.
