Citizens’ Voices Minutes

October 6, 2006

Present: Tom, Dave, Tony, Anne, Jeanne Zwart, Malda.

Civility:

The community needs a pool of facilitators. We have been asked to conduct a focus group meeting but had to decline as no one was available. This project is a real community need.

Greenhouse project:

Margaret Preska will come to our next meeting to answer questions & share wisdom regarding Xcel Energy. She has been on the Board of Directors for over 20 years. New fact - 7 mature trees = the environmental air degradation of one person.

Preservation easements:

A new idea to help preserve buildings of either historical or architectural significance.

The Benchmark Project:

Time to add to our original data. Perhaps the students could again do the leg work.

Envision 2020:

Tony & Tom will be the Citizens Voices permanent members on the steering committee. Envision 2020 also needs outside review committees. Ideas?

Meeting with the Initiative Fund on Tuesday Nov. 14 at 10 AM at MSU (Tony’s office). We need to decide who will attend and we need to each think of the projects that we wish to work with.

The next meeting is on Wednesday, October 18 at the Coffee Hag.
