Citizens’ Voices Minutes

December 13, 2006

Present: Ardie, Dave, Tom, Malda, Bill, Tony, Tim.

Envision 20/20

Tom reported that the Transportation Committee has postponed the discussion of a pedestrian bridge over the river.

Tony told us that the 20/20 benchmarking project by MSU seniors is progressing. It will incorporate, where appropriate, the benchmarking that the student did a couple of years ago for CV.

We will continue & review the original benchmarks.

Preservation of "the valley" structures

Roger Sheffer has over a 100 pictures of these structures, (from years ago or current?) Broad St will probably be narrowed the next time that it is rebuilt or it may get a boulevard down the middle. In the near future change to two way streets, Broad & 4th, will have bump outs for pedestrian crossings at intersections.

Other topics discussed were the value of the Ft. Collins trip, preservation easements and a reuse committee for old buildings.

Dave told us that the next regional forum in February will be on DM&E if we can get appropriate speakers.

Tony told us that the grant request to the Initiative fund was sent off for $5000.

It is to be used for

1. advertising for the forum

2. community story project

3. civic engagement project

We will skip the next regular meeting. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, December 10, at 7:30 am at the Coffee Hag.
