Present: Bill, Anne, Dave,
Kristi, John, Malda, Shelly, Dennis McCoy.
Most of the meeting was a
telling by Dennis of the plans for the "
All county law enforcement
would be moved there as would be the judges & the court administrator.
The law enforcement center
would be left empty. The county government center would have 3000 sq. ft. empty
but it would be easily filled by moving some offices in there. Two floors of
the court house would be empty, possibly for an arts related activity or the
Historical Society. The Nichols building would be half empty & would need
government agency tenants.
We will discuss the
possibility that Citizens Voices has a role in a possible community meeting on
the project.
Dave reported on the
Regional Forum. The last meeting was well attended. The activity does need some
funding. Would the Mankato Foundation be a good source? other?
We will discuss the funding possibilities at the April 21 meeting.
The next Forum meeting is on
May 4th on "Does Minnesota Need a Constitutional Amendment to define
Marriage?"
