Citizens’ Voices Minutes, Steering Committee Meeting of 2 September 04

Present: Dave Engen, Anne, Chris Boyce, Steph Fish , Tony, Malda.

Tim Penny/Quarterly Meeting will probably be held in the MSU Student Union. Steph will coordinate the room & the arrangements. Dave

Will contact the Free Press to run a story on the event as well as the start of a new program at MSU to involve the community. We will try to involve the students at South Central as well as the seniors at West, East & Loyola.

Program:

Anne will give a very short overview of CV & civil discourse for the evening.

1. Announce the Peter Hutchinson program - Tony

2. Report Card - Bill

3. Smart Community Project - Tony will get a participating student to do it.

4. Update radio program - Dave

5. Update web site - Brian Hart

30 seconds for Chris of the Healthy Youth project.

Anne to introduce the student who has been doing the registration of new voters. He will introduce Tim Penny.

Music at the start & finish of the kind to inspire people to participate, become involved & be respectful in civil discourse.

The Rasmussen Woods Group met and had a very good meeting. They will meet again with Tom Severs & Tom Anderson to get the nature center going. Then they wish to continue in an interested, possibly advisory capacity.

Steph works at the MSU Student Union as well as YMCA for Americorps. This is her last semester at MSU.
