Suzanne W. Morse

Morse’s commitment to civic engagement spans more than three decades of teaching, administration and stewardship of one of the best-recognized nonprofits in the field.

Her work as an author, speaker, and advocate for the importance of civic partnerships and citizen leadership to strong democratic communities is widely recognized.  Her latest book, Smart Communities:  How Citizens and successful Leaders Can Use Strategic Thinking to Build a Brighter Future, uses examples of successful civic change initiatives in the U.S.

“Rare is the book which weaves civic stories with wise counsel about what we must do to foster communities that present and future generations will hold dear.  This book speaks to the aspirations of all American citizens who lead, volunteer, and give in the places they live.”
